BIO: Guy Reschenthaler is a Republican representing Pennsylvania’s 14th congressional district. The former Navy lawyer was sworn into office on Jan. 3, 2019.
Reschenthaler earned his bachelor’s degree from Penn State Behrend and his law degree from Duquesne University. He then went to Iraq as a lawyer with the U.S. Navy JAG Corps.
While stationed in Baghdad, he prosecuted almost 100 terrorists and was also notable for successfully defending a Navy SEAL accused of mishandling a notable war criminal.
When he returned to the U.S., he continued working as a Navy lawyer in Norfolk, Va., Texas and Oklahoma. After coming home to Pennsylvania, Reschenthaler worked at a private-practice law firm and, before running for the House, was elected to a magisterial district judgeship.
