BIO: Chrissy Houlahan is a Democrat representing Pennsylvania’s 6th congressional district.
She is a member of the new class of representatives sworn in on Jan. 3, 2019.
Houlahan is well-versed in the defense world, as she grew up in a military family. Her father and one of her grandfathers flew P-3 Orion antisubmarine reconnaissance planes in the same Navy squadron. She chose to stick with the family business, attending Stanford on an Air Force ROTC scholarship.
After receiving her M.S. in technology and policy from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, she joined the Air Force and rose up the ranks to captain. Before getting into politics, Houlahan held high-ranking positions in companies and nonprofits like And1, B-Lab and the Springboard Collective.
