Barry Loudermilk
R-Georgia, Air Force
Bio: Congressman Barry Loudermilk, a Constitutional Conservative, represents Georgia’s 11th Congressional District, which includes all of Bartow and Cherokee counties as well as portions of Cobb and Fulton counties.
Congressman Loudermilk first entered public service in 2001, serving as chairman of his local county Republican Party. With a reputation as one of Georgia’s foremost conservative leaders, Loudermilk was elected to serve in the Georgia House of Representatives in 2004, where he served for six years. He was then elected to the Georgia State Senate, where he served for three years, before being elected to Congress in 2014.
In the 114th Congress, Rep. Loudermilk serves as a member of two important U.S. House Committees; Homeland Security, and Space, Science and Technology. Rep. Loudermilk also serves as Chairman of the SST Subcommittee on Oversight, and as a member of the Homeland Security Committee’s Special Task Force on Combating Terrorist and Foreign Fighter Travel.
A Georgia native, Rep. Loudermilk holds an Associate Degree in Telecommunications Technology, and a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Education and Information Systems Technology.
Congressman Loudermilk is a member of the NRA, the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association and the American Legion. He is a Lt. Colonel in the Civil Air Patrol and former Commander of the Georgia Legislative Squadron.
Loudermilk is a former small business owner and a motivational speaker, author, and historian.
Barry and his wife Desiree have been married since 1983. They reside in Cassville, Georgia, and have three grown children, and two granddaughters.
