BIO: Jason Crow is a Democrat representing Colorado’s 6th congressional district. The decorated Army Ranger was sworn into office on Jan. 3, 2019.
Crow has spent most of his professional life around the military. He went to the University of Wisconsin and then almost immediately entered the Army as an officer of the 82nd Airborne Division. He earned a Bronze Star for his combat actions by leading a platoon of paratroopers during the invasion of Iraq.
He later joined the Army’s 75th Ranger Regiment and proceeded to serve two tours in Afghanistan, eventually moving up the ranks to captain. Upon exiting the military, Crow earned his law degree from the University of Denver and worked in law before running for office.
He has made a name for himself as a champion for veterans’ rights, like when he advocated for replacing the rundown VA hospital in Denver with a new one in Aurora, Colo. He also publicly supported President Barack Obama’s repeal of the military’s “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy at the 2012 Democratic National Convention.
